Mumbai, Sept 9: The Maharashtra Konkan Association, the association of Konkani Catholics of undivided Dakshina Kannada, celebrated the Nativity of Beloved Virgin Mary at the Gyan Ashram, at Andheri (E), here on Saturday, September 9.

Earlier, Eucharistic Holy mass was celebrated to commemorate the occasion. Fr Hubert Goveas, parish priest of St Pais church Mulund, celebrated the Mass and blessed the corns as per the custom prevalent. After the Mass, a traditional lunch was served to all.











On the solemn occasion to enthuse the devout, who had gathered, John Mendonca and the party, sung the choirs. John D’Silva, president of Fudar Foundation, Vincent Mathias, president of the Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Senior citizen Benedicta Rebello, participant Lawrence D’Souza Jerimeri, entrepreneur Alwyn D’Souza and Vincent D’Souza, honorary general secretary of the Association, all delivered messages on this occasion.

Gladis J D’Silva, social activist Harry R Sequeira Ferar, Jecinta D’Silva. Prameela V Mathias, Jesinta Tara, director, Ronida Press Media (Pvt) Limited were the special invitees.

Benedicta B Rebello, president of the Association, welcomed the gathering. Convener Leo Fernandes gave information pertaining to the significance of the feast. Walter D’Souza Jerimeri proposed, the vote of thanks.
