Mangalore, Sep 4: SDM Law College and the centre for post graduate studies in Law will jointly organize a one-day seminar  on ‘Investigation of Crime – The legal and scientific perspectives’ at the auditorium of the College here on Saturday September 8, said college principal B K Ravindra, speaking to reporters here on Monday September 3.

Ravindra further said that the seminar will be inaugurated by Karnataka High Court judge justice N Kumar. Inspector General of Police (Western Range) A M Prasad will preside over, he added.

The chief guest for the programme will be principal district and sessions court judge H M Bharathesh, Karnataka state public prosecutor Dore Raju and SDM Education Society Board member Prof A Rajendra Shetty, Ravindra informed.

Ravindra further said that the seminar will be held in four sessions. One is on ‘Need and object of Forensic Investigation’. The second will be on ‘Forensic Examination of Physical Clues’. The third session will be on ‘Procedure in Conducting Scientific Investigation’ and the last session will be on ‘Value and Pros and Cons of Forensic Investigation’, he added.

The first session will commence at 10.30 am after the inaugural, he concluded.
