Two booked for beating Dalit couple

Patna, Jan 10 (IANS): Two people were booked on charge of severely beating a Dalit couple for refusing to stay away from a Hanuman temple in Bihar's Gopalganj district, police said on Sunday.

An FIR was lodged against Dashrath Choudhary and another person following a complaint from Rajesh Kumar and his wife Sheela Devi.

The couple alleged they were assaulted with iron rods in Jodawan Chapar village by "some influential people" who told them not to pray at a Hanuman temple as they were "so-called untouchables".
