Mumbai, Aug 30: State governor S M Krishna has expressed his condolences on the demise of veteran Congress leader and former deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, Barrister Ramrao Adik, here on Thursday August 30 morning. 

In a message to Dr Lekha Adik Pathak, the Governor stated that Barrister Ramrao Adik was a well-known political figure in Maharashtra. He left behind his imprint as a learned lawyer, advocate general and also as a successful finance minister of Maharashtra.

Even after retiring from active politics, Adik remained attached to various socio-economic organizations. Adik played a significant role in promoting India's trade and commerce relations with Arab countries during his tenure as president of the Indo-Arab Society. At the personal level, Adik was a warm-hearted person known for his sense of wit and humour.
