Court rejects appeal, Real Madrid 'respects but doesn't agree' with decision

Madrid, Dec 29 (IANS): Real Madrid announced it "respects but does not agree with" the decision of the Spanish Administrative Court for Sport (TAD) which rejected its appeal against the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) decision to disqualify it from the Copa del Rey after fielding suspended Russian Denis Cheryshev against Cadiz in the competition.

Real Madrid also announced that it will "pursue a judicial-administrative course of action, along with other possible legal options, which are currently being studied", reports Efe.

TAD's decision endorses the measures taken by RFEF's appeal committee regarding the disqualification of 'Los Blancos' from the tournament. Real Madrid plan to submit an administrative appeal against their disqualification from Copa del Rey.

Cadiz are set to meet Celta Vigo on January 6 and 13 despite losing 1-3 to Real Madrid in the match that witnessed the controversial incident.
