Madrid, Dec 2 (IANS): Real Madrid issued a medical report on defender Dani Carvajal, who sustained an injury during Sunday's La Liga clash against Eibar, confirming that the Spain international suffered an injury to a muscle in his left thigh.
The 23-year-old on Tuesday became the 16th injured footballer of the Whites this season, reports Efe.
"Following the tests carried out on Dani Carvajal today in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the muscle in his left thigh," the Spanish club said on its official website.
Real Madrid did not define the recovery period, but it appears that Carjaval cannot return before the end of 2015.
The initial scans conducted on Sunday showed that Carvajal suffered a muscle strain, but final tests confirmed the muscle injury.
