Man City beat Hull to enter English League Cup semis


London, Dec 2 (IANS): Manchester City beat Hull 4-1 to reach the English League Cup semi-finals, while Everton and Stoke also advanced with victories against second-division clubs.

Wilfred Bony helped City take an early lead, converting the rebound after Kevin De Bruyne's shot from distance hit the post on Tuesday, reports Xinhua.

Kelechi Iheanacho tapped in from close range, before a quick-fire double by City's Kevin De Bruyne. Andrew Robertson got a consolation goal for Hull at last minute.

Everton won 2-0 at Middlesbrough and Stoke defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 to reach the semi-finals for the first time since it won the competition in 1972.

In the last quarter-final, Liverpool will travel to Southampton on Wednesday.
