Mangalore, Aug 10: Sri Rama Sene will contest for 60 seats in coming MCC polls, said Dinkar Shetty, legal advisor of the Sene here.

He was speaking to the media persons here at the press club on Thursday August 9.

The decision has chiefly been made keeping in mind, the betterment of Mangalore and the Mangaloreans, and ending the corruption, the legal consultant added.

Difficulties in the maintenance of drainage system, street lamps, civic workers and others problems propelled the Sene to come into the scene, he added.

Sri Rama Sene has decided to contest to gain the political support to oppose the catastrophes like the diversion of the Netravathi river and promote communal harmony which is the need of the hour.

Sene condemned the decision of the state government's decision to offer government job to Dr Haneef who was detained by the Australian police in connection with the Glasgow blasts.  The Sene strongly condemned the decision, terming it ‘pleasing the Minorities’.

Sene alleged that the conspiracy has been hatched to victimize Prasad Attavar, Sene leader accused in the murder case of M Ibrahim during the infamous Mangalore curfew. The legal consultant said that Prasad was at home when Ibrahim was murdered and the present allegations are nothing but mere political games to victimize Prasad in the case. "If the administration does not drop the inquiry in this regard, we would launch state-wide agitation against the government," he warned.

Madhusudan, convenor, Kumar Malemar, Subash Padil, co-onveners and Shivaraj Attavar, city convener were present at  the pres conference.
