Mangalore, Aug 10: The College round of the 20th Indian Academy of Peadiatrics (IAP) annual 'Peaditric Quiz' was conducted at the Kasturba Medical College here.

Eight students, who were selected from among all the students who attempted the preliminary written multiple choice questions' test, formed four teams that finally took part in the college round. 

The four teams and the participants were –

Team A – Suman Kr Chatterjee and Divvy Kant Upadhyay.
Team B – Nayan Gupta and Prantesh Jain.
Team C – Sonjoy Sen Gupta and Bharat Sukheja.
Team D – Asim Ruhela and Kriti Prasad.

Team B won the quiz, which saw a closely fought competition between the teams B,C and D till the last round. Dr Sridhar Avabharta conducted the quiz. The winners and other participants were given certificates and tokens of appreciation by the dean Dr CV Raghuveer.

Addressing the gathering later, Dr Raghuveer congratulated the students and the department of pediatrics of the college for conducting such quiz sessions. He stressed the need for many more such quizzing programmes to be conducted by different departments in the college. 

The winners, Team B, will now represent the college and take part in the Inter-college round for Mangalore zone that will be held on Wednesday August 22 at KMC.

 Professor and head of department of Peadiatrics Dr Nuthan Kamath was present along with Dr ATK Rau, Dr Rathika Shenoy and Dr Kamalakhsi Bhat among other professors and students.
