Shuttler Sai ousted from Bitburger Open


Saarbrucken (Germany), Oct 30 (IANS): The Indian challenge at the $120,000 Bitburger Badminton Open Grand Prix Gold came to an end with B. Sai Praneeth losing his men's singles pre-quarterfinal match to England's Rajiv Ouseph here.

The 16th seeded Sai put up a brave fight on Thursday evening but eventually went down to the fifth seeded Englishman, 21-17, 6-21, 18-21 in 50 minutes at the Saarlandhalle Saarbrucken.

This was the first match between the two shuttlers.
