Kerala House beef row: Delhi Police detain Hindu Sena Chief Vishnu Gupta

New Delhi, Oct 28 (Agencies) : Facing flak for allegedly carrying out a 'raid' at Kerala House in Delhi over sale of beef, the Delhi Police, Wednesday, detained Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta.

31-year-old Gupta was detained amid reports that an FIR has been filed against him under Section 182 of the Indian Penal Code - False information, with intent to cause public servant to use his lawful power to the injury of another person.

A media report said that Gupta was on the run since yesterday evening after he sensed that Delhi Police will take action against him. He was reportedly picked from Tilak Nagar area of the national capital today morning.

Gupta was the person who had made a call to the PCR alleging that cow meat was being sold at the Kerala House canteen, following which police officials had entered the Kerala House premises and made enquiries.

However, it was later found that the beef on Kerala House menu was buffalo meat.

The incident had triggered a political storm with Kerala CM shooting of a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding action against Delhi Police.

Two things are not clear to me.
1) Is beef really banned in Delhi?
2) Is buffalo meat called beef? (apparently the menu had beef written in Malayalam).

During the eve of Bakrid, you can see huge number of cattle stock lined up for open sale on NH 14 highway, from Manjeshwar to South Trvandrum, apparently for slaughtering next day. This include buffalo sand cows. No issues and raids.

The raid in Kerala House is deplorable and we salute Mr. Chandy for daring the PM. instantly.

It is heartening to note that this ruffian Vishnu Gupta has been rounded up. There are so many of his kind roaming around freely without the slightest fear of the law. All this is, to a very large extent, because of the manner in which the government treats them with kid gloves. Pick up a few of such hate mongers and give them the treatment they deserve and I am sure they will fall in line. Instead of doing this, if the government abets their wrong doing and looks the other way, this government will be doing a lot of disservice to the country and it will have only itself to blame if the world fails to take us seriously, the frequent foreign trips of the P.M. notwithstanding.

Even though i converted to vegie according to my knowledge beef is the remedy for many deceases like asthama, Tuberculosis.. During 80s beef price was Rs. 12/- . Since it is not cow meet, police are behind Hindu activist. And he should be arrested for false information. Next time, Hindu activists must be careful with an instrument to check the meet belongs to cow or buffalo...:-) I believe such an instrument is available in this world. Otherwise how to confirm? There are many unoccupied Islands in the Andaman Island area so the Government can create a lot of jobs for the jobless people there, and more peace to the society through shipping them out. Kerala done right thing. Delhi Police have done a grave mistake by raiding the guest house. Under the constitution, everybody has fundamental right to move, work and eat whatever people chose. Nobody has right to stop anyone from eating what he wants.

we have our own right to eat food.India is a democratic county.Not like the other countries.Now I feel shame to say that i am an Indian.You guys think that india belongs to only hindus.its a total mistake
