Iran parliament approves law to implement n-deal

Tehran, Oct 13 (IANS): Iran's parliament on Tuesday approved a legislation which asks the government to implement the recent nuclear deal reached between Tehran and the world powers.

Based on the legislation, the Iranian administration was urged to take "proportional measures" in implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action agreed in July, Xinhua news agency reported.

The agreement was reached by Iran and the P5 1 group, namely the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany.

The motion, ratified with 161 votes in favour, 59 against and 13 abstentions, asks the government to consider national security in implementing the deal, stressing reciprocal measures in response to pressures and threats that might go beyond the obligations of Iran in the agreement.
