Feyenoord climb to second spot in Eredivisie

Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Sep 28 (IANS): Feyenoord moved up to the second place in the Dutch Eredivisie defeating PEC Zwolle 2-0.

On Saturday, league leaders Ajax beat FC Groningen 2-0 in Amsterdam. Nemanja Gudelj opened the scoring with free kick in the 23rd minute. Early in the second half Ajax wasted several good opportunities, but substitute Viktor Fischer finished the job with a subtle chip after a fine solo effort.

Jaroslav Navratil narrowed the margin with fifteen minutes to go for Almelo, but Muamer Tankovic secured the home victory with a chip shortly afterwards.
