Homeless people around UN building removed

New York, Sep 26 (IANS): As in every year in preparation for the UN summit, the city removed homeless people who sleep on the platforms and parks around
the UN headquarters, both for security and to keep up appearances.

People who sleep in cardboard boxes or just on the ground or outside storefronts have been moved by police and social workers away from the area.

Some were moved into shelters and others just hsutled away to different areas.
