Himachal's Commonwealth Games fencing champion Jyotika felicitated


Shimla, Sep 16 (IANS): The winner of silver medal in fencing in the Commonwealth Games this year, Jyotika Dutta, was felicitated by leading business house Adani Group on Wednesday, the company said.

Jyotika, who represented the country in the tournament that was held on July 16 and 17 in South Africa, was felicitated at a function held in her hometown Rohru in Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh.

The award recognised the dedication and sincerity of Jyotika who made the country proud by winning a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games, the company said in a statement.

Jyotika, 18, has represented India in other international tournaments such as the Junior Asian championship held in Bangkok 2012-13, World Cup held in Doha 2013-14, 2014-15 World Championship in Morocco and Asian Championship in Mongolia 2015.

Adani Group has a good presence in Himachal Pradesh where Adani Agrifresh Ltd. has set up three controlled atmosphere facilities to store 23,000 tonnes of apple.

Agrifresh purchases apple from 15,000 farmers and also provides agri-inputs and extension services through its farmer service centres.
