Hollywood film '300' inspired Djokovic in US Open final

New York, Sep 15 (IANS): World No.1 tennis player Novak Djokovic has said that the Hollywood film '300' inspired him during the US Open final against Roger Federer.

The Serbian ousted Federer 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 at Flushing Meadows here on Sunday to clinch his 10th Grand Slam title.

The night before the final, Djokovic watched the movie '300' starring his friend Scottish actor Gerard Butler.

"We are good friends. He happened to be in the city over the last couple of days, so I invited him to come (for the match). I actually sent him a photo and a message last night. I was watching the 300 movie. When I went to my box, I looked at him and said, 'This is Sparta.' It felt great," Djokovic was quoted as saying the BBC on Monday.

"That's one of the most inspiring movies I watched. So actually, yeah, he's a very cool guy," he said.
