5 Indians for World Amateur Golf


Bengaluru, Sep 14 (IANS): Shiv Naren Srinivasan, Sridhar Reddy, Gurdeep Singh Virdi, Bhisham Batra and Shrenik Kumar have sealed a spot to play in the World Golfers Championship to be held in Turkey from November 28 to December 5.

All the five golfers were selected on the basis of their performances in the just-concluded seventh Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival here.

A scratch golfer, Srinivasan, who is a regular on the Indian Golf Union's men amateur circuit, collected 39 Stableford points in 0-5 handicap category, while Sridhar Reddy (6-10), Virdi (11-15), Batra (16-20) and Shrenik Kumar (21-24) topped in their respective categories.
