Jun 25: Mumbai and neighbouring areas, which have been experiencing heavy rains since Saturday night, are likely to have more showers in the coming 24 hours as well, weather officials said.

Met department officials said that heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by gusty winds will continue to lash the metropolis on Monday.

56.5 mm rain was recorded in Colaba while 84.0 mm was recorded at Santa Cruz over the last 24 hours.

Warnings have been issued to fishermen not to venture into the sea along the Maharashtra and Goa [Images] coasts and ports have been told to remain alert and take necessary precautions, they added.

Trains on Mumbai's Western as well as Central lines are running on time, railway officials said.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places are likely in areas of South Madhya and North Madhya Maharashtra during next 24 hours, weather officials added.
