Farah retains world 5,000m title


Beijing, Aug 29 (IANS): Defending champion Mo Farah of Britain retained the 5,000 metres title at the World Athletics Championships at the Bird's Nest stadium here on Saturday.

Farah, also 10,000 metres winner here, clocked 13 minutes, 50.38 seconds for the gold medal, beating second-placed Kenyan Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku by 1.37 seconds, reports Xinhua.

Ethiopia's Hagos Gebrhiwet took the bronze medal in 13:51.86 minutes.
