Puttur, Jun 22: "The movement to preserve and develop indigenous cattle breeds will be continued and I will not rest till I achieve," said Shri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Shri Shankaracharya Mahasamstana while addressing the gathering organized by the local citizen's community here. The preservation and development is not up to the mark but the great help rendered by the people has been unique. He also said he is not satisfied with the progress but absolutely satisfied with the process.

Guru Pheetas should have contemporary thoughts and they should cater to the needs of the society and indigenous cattle breeds are the symbol of prosperity. The sanctity of the cow is the foremost sentiment of India as its significance is more than what is generally understood like that of religion and religious. "Cattle too have the right to live on the earth and no one can snatch it away and our work in that regard reflects it. We need to understand it clearly," he added.

Western Range IGP H N Satyanarayana Rao who presided over the function said that said religious heads and institutions have a responsibility towards the society.  "They have to lead from the front and take initiative in moulding people," he said.

Noted thinker Lakshmisha Tholpadi said that rich “Sanatana Dharma” should be revalued and should not extinct.

Earlier the pontiff was accorded a warm welcome as he was bought in a grand procession by the citizens of Uppinangadi. The president of Sampoojana committee Dhanya Kumar Rai welcomed the pontiff. Shantaram K, Atrijalu Krishna Kumar, Heramba Shastri, leaders of Kanchana Seema Parishat were also present ion the occasion.
