Shuttlers Arun-Aparna lose in Vietnam Open


Ho Chi Minh City, Aug 27 (IANS): Indian mixed doubles shuttlers Arun Vishnu and Aparna Balan lost their second round match and were ousted from the $50,000 Vietnam Open Grand Prix here on Thursday.

Indonesian seventh seeds Alfian Eko Prasetya and Annisa Saufika took care of Arun and Aparna, winning 21-9, 22-20 in half-an-hour to proceed to the quarterfinals at the Nguyen Du Stadium.

Later in the day, Shreyansh Jaiswal will take on compatriot Sameer Verma in Round 3 of the men's singles while men's doubles third seeds Pranaav Chopra and Akshay Dewalkar will face the Chinese pair of Huang Kaixiang and Wang Sijie in the second round.
