Mumbai, Jun 17: The first monsoon showers hit the city on the afternoon of June 17, 2007 in Mumbai city bringing great relief from heat and humid weather to the residents of Mumbai.
Old umbrellas that were carefully folded and stacked in after last years monsoons have been fluttered open yet again.
Although it was not a heavy downpour , rain water was seen clogged in may corners of the City.
Municipality officials in Mumbai have claimed that they are better prepared for the monsoons this year and are ready to face any eventuality.
It can be recalled that in the year 2005, the monsoons had devastated the city with thousands of people left stranded , many killed and millions of rupees worth of property destroyed.
