Live Cricket Streaming : India Vs Sri Lanka 2015 - Second test, Day 2

Colombo, Aug 21 : Sri Lanka's quest to wrap the Indian innings early on Day 2 received a boost when Ravichandran Ashwin attempted an ambitious on-the-up drive to a back of a length delivery to a good length delivery and ended up chipping it tamely to the fielder at short cover. Pretty lackadaisical from Ashwin, considering the importance of his batting in the much hailed 6-5 theory. That wasn't up there to be driven. Not at all.

Meanwhile, Wriddhiman Saha appears to have consumed a drop of Felix Feliceswith his breakfast for he has survived two unbelievably lucky reprieves in the short first session thus far. Dhammika Prasad got an outswinger to beat his bat and clip the off-stump only for the bails to refuse to budge from their grooves. In Dhammika's next over, Saha attempted an ungainly hoick and the edge was taken by keeper Chandimal. However, when the on-field umpires referred the decision to the the third umpires, the replays were inconclusive if the ball had carried to Chandimal. Seemed clean!

The wicket of Rohit Sharma at the fag end of Day 1 may just have put Sri Lanka slightly ahead in the second Cricbuzz Cup Test. India have 319 runs on the board but have only four remaining wickets to add to this total. The pitch has no demons so Virat Kohli would have envisioned a minimum of 400 runs on the board when he won the toss. The onus is now on Saha , Ashwin and the tail to take India to that target.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, will want to wrap up the tail and then enjoy the best of batting conditions on Day 2. Kumar Sangakkara took a nice long look at the wicket at the end of the training drills. He would love to get a crack on this surface against the Indian attack in his final Test. Should be an absorbing day's play!
