Majadahonda (Spain), Aug 20 (IANS): Atletico Madrid midfielder Gabriel "Gabi" Fernandez has said the team wants to keep winning titles in the new season, while he acknowledged that his performance in the last season was not great.
"We are making history. I like that the group is more demanding every day and we are not satisfied with what we have done. Winning a title per season is very good for the club and for our players," the midfielder said in a post-training session press conference on Wednesday, reports Efe.
Regarding his personal role, the Atletico captain said he has been tasked with more and more day after day, acknowledging that his performance was not optimal last year.
Gabi then promised to give his best in the next season, which will begin next Saturday, and was confident that it would be an improvement given that he is in better shape than last season.
