'Valencia must keep a clean net in Monaco clash'

Valencia (Spain), Aug 15 (IANS): Spanish club Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno has declared that his team can maximize its chances of securing a spot in the European Champions league football tournament by "keeping a clean net and going for all chances" during the qualifier play-off against French side Monaco next Wednesday.

Valencia has had a "tough but good preparation" and should be "among the best in Europe and win titles," Efe quoted Rodrigo as saying on Friday.

Rodrigo said that he wants "to hear the anthem of the Champions."

Regarding the opponent, Rodrigo said that being paired with Monaco was one of the toughest possible draws.

Monaco have a good team and they have added some great players and gave a great showing in last year's Champions League, which really showcased their experience, Rodrigo added.

The Spanish player voiced caution, but noted that the important thing is to remember that the first game is at home, and they can think about the second leg later.
