Mangalore, Jun 7: Renowned poet Dr G S Shivarudrappa will be honoured with the Tulunadu Gaurava Pradhana title at a programme to be held at T V Raman Pai Convention Centre here on Saturday June 9.

The programme has been organized by Dakshina Kannada District chapter of Kannada Sahitya Parishat and All India Sharana Sahitya Parishat (AISSP)

On the same occasion, the district unit of All India Sharana Sahitya Parishat will be officially inaugurated by Dr Shivarudrappa. The programme will be graced by Shrree Vishweshwarateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Udupi.

The programme will be presided over by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade. He will also honour the poet with the title.

District-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty, AISSP Bangalore president Go Ru Chennabasappa and state Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Harikrishna Punaroor will be the chief guests on the occasion. .

At 4 pm, there will be light music programme by Chandrashekhar Kedlaya and group followed by a stage programme at 5 pm. Musical evening will by Mounish Kumar Chawani and others will start from 7 pm.

The others present at the press meet were Asha Kiran, Somshekhara, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Vijay K and Shiva Prakash.
