Shantanu Goenka debuts his menswear line in capital

New Delhi, Aug 7 (IANS): Designer Shantanu Goenka, who showcased his menswear line for the first time in the capital earlier this week, says he's planning to explore the wedding design market.

His menswear designs will be available at multi-brand store Evoluzione here.

“The men's line was a small introduction and comprised mainly of long and short bandhgalas and waistcoats beautifully textured and ombré dyed in tones of charcoals, amber, burgundy and aqua.

“The base is treated with fine thread work and over appliquéd with antique zardozi creepers abstractly and asymmetrically placed,” Goenka told IANS.

However, his brand only does menswear on request from his studio in Kolkata "since each piece is finely handcrafted".

Known for his exquisite couture ensembles, Goenka showcased his collection via a fashion exposition 'Fashioning Fairy Tales'. The exposition, which was launched in Kolkata earlier this year, was brought here for the first time on August 5.

Asked about future plans he said “We have been doing accessories for a short while now. However, now we plan to focus great efforts on developing our accessories line further. I am also planning on going into wedding design.”
