Mangalore, Jun 3 (11-45 pm): Being at Kalaangann for the monthly theatre - 'Moinealli Manchi' - appears to be highly habit-forming.

It is simply for the reason that Mandd Sobhann has adhered to its tradition of presenting various forms of the best of Konkani art, culture and entertainment, which becomes a feast for the Konkani art connoisseurs as part of a Sunday evening outing.

The 66th edition presented on Sunday evening in the Noreen and Ronald Mendonca amphitheatre at Kalaangann in Shaktinagar here under the title 'Yuva Dabazo' was indeed a promise of quality for the future, although the artistes were fairly recent entrants in the field and were not recognized professionals.

The young talents were well trained under the baton of maestro Joel Pereira and they presented a commendable performance all throughout. It was a presentation from 'Mongllurchim Motiam' group, now well recognized as being made of a highly talented performers.

Sunil Monteiro, a 'Soad' talent-scout discovery of Konkani TV, was the star attraction, well supported by Steven Cutinho, Shilpa Cutinho, Adina Fernandes, Munita Viegas, Sheryn Valdar, Chandrahas and others.

'Mhojea moga iere' by Shilpa, 'iego baie, dance maruiam' by Sunil and Munita, 'Dis rat moga' by Sheryn, 'Tea disa vhalla kodden' by Steven, 'Sallore ieo' by Sunil, 'Mai' by Adina and Munita, 'Kenna tuka raktam' by Chandrahas, 'Sontosacheo ghoddio' by Steven, 'Hanv cheddoi nhoi, cheddum-i nhoi' by Sunil and Steven and group songs 'Tonnier tonni mar' and 'Kharvi ami' accompanied by dances - each one was enjoyed by the jam-packed crowd at Kalaangann.

Special mention should be made of the voice modulation displayed by Sheryn while singing 'Dis rat moga'.

A humorous diversion was provided by a playlet titled 'Keppeachim Khestauam' written by Claud D'Souza and enacted by the group's artistes.

In all, it was a good piece of entertainment, showcasing a new generation of talents altogether.
