Mobile app by Indianfilminformation.com soon

New Delhi, July 30 (IANS): With the aim to further establish its base in the entertainment business and reach a wider audience, Indianfilminformation.com - an entertainment web portal -- will be converted into a mobile application in September.

The web portal has been in the entertainment business since the last three years. Its co-founder Prabhleen Sandhu says that the step was in mind since the portal's inception.

“The idea to launch the mobile app version of Indianfilminformation.com has been brewing since its inception. We were testing the waters initially in the web space and now with a huge response and immense people’s engagement, we think the time is right for the mobile app launch to reach more people worldwide," Sandhu said in a statement.

The app will also cater to the regional film industry nationwide with their information, reviews, previews and content designed for the regional industry.

“Firstly, we are film industry insiders and being a production house with a legacy of over 64 years, we understand the industry much better than other film information websites who are outsiders. We will also be having multiple language options for the app to have a wider reach and regional presence,” Sandhu added.

They are also mulling over the idea of getting directors to make content for the app and one can expect content ranging from humour to erotica to wallpapers and short films. The app will be available on Android, iPhone and Blackberry.

About the funding for the app, Sandhu said: "It is true that funders have loved our business model and plans, but we are internally yet to decide whom to join in this journey."
