Pakistan to facilitate Afghan-Taliban second round talks


Islamabad, July 30 (IANS): Pakistan is slated to facilitate the second round of talks between the Afghanistan government and Taliban, it was announced on Thursday.

The announcement was made by foreign office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah, Radio Pakistan reported.

Khalilullah did not specify the date nor the venue of the talks.

He said Pakistan remains committed to supporting and facilitating an Afghan-led reconciliation process.

The first round of talks were held on July 7 in the town of Murree, a hill resort some 60 km from Islamabad.
