Dubai, May 19: A houseful crowd witnessed a captivating event in Dubai, where ‘Famad Dance Challenge 2007’ and a super-hit Tulu drama ‘Aapini Poora Eddege’ were performed with utmost professionalism, charm and charisma. It was a day of quality entertainment and a display of talented artists.  

The event was held on Friday afternoon, May 18 at The Emirates English-Speaking School Auditorium in Jumeira and the show was a sold-out event, and lots of people were disappointed not to be able to secure themselves a seat.  The entire event was well organized with high glamour and glitter.  



Harsha, the famous radio jockey from 89.1 and a Tulu speaking Mangalorean from Mumbai was the star attraction of the event who was one of the celebrity judges for ‘Famad Dance Challenge 2007’ with Manjula of ‘Cha Parka’ fame being a part of the same team.  The dance competition also included Hemacharya, Marina Menezes and Rajesh Gatti as judges for the dance competition.   

8 participating couples fought out for the prizes with excellent performances and the winners were: 

Winnners: Andrea &  Ritesh (Dh3003 and trophies)
First Runners-up: Reshma & Ashwin (Dh2002 and trophies)
Second Runners-up:  Divya & Prasanna (Dh1001 plus trophies) 

Dinesh Correa announced the winners. Dony and Asha wonderfully conducted the dance competition 



A flavour of charm and professionalism took ‘Famad Dance Challenge 2007’ to a great height and indeed this event has created a brand name of its own.  It was a fully professional performance by the organizers and the participants. 

The second part of the event was a Tulu family drama called ‘Aaapni Poora Eddege’ written by Chandrashekhar B C Road and directed by Vishwanath Shetty.  Top actors of Pokri Pernal put up a brilliant show with excellent performances.  ‘Aapini Poora Eddege’ can be considered as one of the best drama performances ever in this part of the world with memorable acting skills by some of the actors.  A jam packed hall witnessed a captivating drama which was also a professionally managed event.   



After the show, all actors and supporting team were felicitated by Sarvottham Shetty.  Ganesh Rai conducted the felicitation programme.  Vishwanath Shetty, director of the drama was honoured with shawl and ‘Fala Pushpa’ by Famad Pernal. 

Dubai witnessed a high quality event and this will remain in their hearts for a long time.
