[Mission Daijiworld: Viju Mangalore, Austin Pinto, Gloria Rodrigues, Latha Shenoy & Walter Nandalike]

Mangalore, May 5: It was March 7, 2007 when Daijiworld published a touching and a rare story about a 14-year-old girl child suffering from Microcephalia. Born with several abnormalities Vidya lives a bed-ridden life. Despite her disability her mother Saraswati is so attached to the apple of her eye Vidya that she cannot live without her.

Vidya needs continues attention from her mother as she cries throughout the day and needs special attention.

Saraswati who lost her husband few months back lives with her school-going son who also goes for work after school hours to bring in some money to meet ends. The family is in dearth of financial support.

Dayan D'Souza, who brought their plight to light, initiated a humble appeal through daijiworld.com. History was repeated. Just like the previous appeals, this family too obtained a generous support in terms of response, prayers and also financial help from readers all over the world. This is an apt example of humanity rising above the shackles of the caste, creed and language and reaching out to those in pain and suffering.

When the Daijiworld team visited her house in Santhoor, Saraswati was overjoyed. She had only words of gratitude and prayers for the support received from Daijiworld readers.

Though Vidya cannot recover from here present condition, there is now at least a hope that funds obtained would help the family go a long way in caring for the child. She hopes more people will help her in the coming days. The family has so far received around Rs 2 lac from Daijiworld readers worldwide.

The mother also wished God’s prayers to all those individuals and their families who supported the family during their dark days. She also made a special mention of Dayan D’Souza for initiating process.

Daijiworld.com once again bows down to all its readers for the responding in faith to the appeals published through its channel and also thanks each and every one who contributed to her cause.
