Nigeria FA probes coach for Cote d'Ivoire job plea

Lagos, June 24 (IANS): The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has summoned 'Super Eagles' head coach Stephen Keshi to appear before its disciplinary committee over his inclusion in a job shortlist in Cote d'Ivoire.

The coach is expected to explain circumstances surrounding his inclusion in a job shortlist in Cote d'Ivoire. Cote d'Ivoire's football federation (FIF) announced on Friday it received 59 applications, including that of Keshi, in a move to get a replacement for Frenchman Herve Renard, reports Xinhua.

However, Keshi, who signed a fresh two-year deal with NFF in April, said he knew nothing about the application.

The coach said his appearance before the NFF disciplinary committee would not deter him from doing his job. He added it was normal for anybody to appear before such a committee to clarify issues of such magnitude.
