Mumbai, May 1: A programme was organized at Chakala here on Monday April 30 to pay homage to Rahul Lawrence Vaz, member of Kundapur Catholic Association who passed away last year at the age of 22 owing to an electrical shock.

Vaz, a technician by profession, had lost his parents in his childhood and was living with his friends at a hostel with the help of the Association. The programme was organized by Vaz’s friends and Association members.

Tributes were also paid to another member of the Association Ovin Nazreth who passed away recently.

A prayer service was also held at the Association’s quarters.

Association president Rocky Menezes, secretary Peter Buthello, Maharashtra Konkan Association founder president Leo Fernandes, Federation of Maharashtra’s Canara Catholic Association convenor Rons Bantwal, advisor Harry S Ferar, Dirvem Konkani weekly editor and publisher John Monis, Clement Madanthyar, Association members Archie Fernandes, Michael Gras, Nickson Gonsalves and others also paid their tributes.
