Dynamo Moscow disqualified from European competitions

Moscow, Jun 20 (IANS/EFE): European football's governing body UEFA disqualified Dynamo Moscow from European competitions for the 2015-2016 season for violating the Financial Fair Play regulations, the press office of the Moscow club reported.

UEFA's decision was communicated on Friday to Dynamo, which qualified for the last four seasons to the Europa League.

According to the press release from the club, the sanction adopted by UEFA does not include financial penalties or limitations on signings and transfers of players.

"The decision (by UEFA) is for all of us, the fans, the players, the coaching staff and managers, a blow," Dynamo said in the statement.

The place of the Moscow club in the next edition of the Europa League will be occupied by Rubin Kazan, which finished fifth last season.

Dynamo was sanctioned for increasing the expenditure of an advertising contract and the disproportionate payroll of its players in relation to the club's budget.
