Catastrophe, says Ribery of ankle injury

Munich, June 11 (IANS): Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery is depressed about his ankle injury although he is now on holiday.

Ribery has not played for his club since March 11, when Bayern smashed Shakhtar Donetsk 7-0 in the Champions League's last 16. In his absence, Bayern won the Bundesliga title but was eliminated form the Champions League semifinals. Even team doctor Muller Wohlfahrt was forced to resign, reports Xinhua.

"The injury is getting on my nerves, it's a catastrophe. I think about my football the time. I just want to run! I want to play! I have to be able to train in order to be happy. I couldn't do what I wanted to do, like jet ski or drive a boat. It was crap," Ribery said.

Ribery says the injury is "significantly better" and hopes to be able to run again soon. He was eager to take part in Bayern's pre-season training, which will start in July.
