Paes-Nestor knocked out of Topshelf Open

Den Bosch (Netherlands), Jun 11 (IANS): Indo-Canadian tennis pair of Leander Paes and Daniel Nestor were knocked out of the Topshelf Open as they lost their men's doubles quarterfinal in straight sets here.

The second seeds lost 4-6, 6-7(7) on the grass courts of Autotron Park in Rosmalen to French combine of Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut on Wednesday night.

Herbert and Mahut proved a tad bit better in the highly competitive match. They won the only break of serve of the contest which was enough to seal the first set.

The second set went all the way down to the wire where the unseeded French pair won the tie-breaker 9-7 to proceed to the semifinals.
