Murray grabs Munich Open title


Munich, May 5 (IANS): Scottish tennis ace Andy Murray won the men's singles final of the Munich Open after defeating German Phillip Kohlschreiber here.

The top seed defeated World No.24 Kohlschreiber after an arduous, three-hour-long match resulting in 7-6(4), 5-7, 7-6(4) on Monday, reports Efe.

The final started on Sunday, but 32 minutes into the match, when the German was up 3-2 in the first set, the match was interrupted by heavy rain, postponing it to Monday.

With the victory, Murray won his first title of the season and 32nd of his career.
