Mumbai, Mar 21: Two people died and ten others were injured in a major fire that broke out in a residential building at Borivali in western suburbs here.

Before the arrival of the fire fighters, residents of the building broke the glass of the room to pave way for the smoke. As soon as the smoke started coming out, residents of the ground, first and second floors rushed out of the building.

However, residents of the third and fourth floor were stuck on the terrace of the building, resulting in suffocation, in which two persons died and ten others were injured.

The injured were admitted to Bhagwati Hospital, Suvarna Hospital and J J Hospital, sources added.

The deceased were identified as Lata Dinesh Jani, 55 and Jitendra Champaklal Mehta, 47.
