Czech Republic lead 2-0 in Fed Cup semis

Prague, April 19 (IANS): The Czech Republic team led 2-0 over France with two singles wins in the first day's Fed Cup tennis semi-final.

Lucie Safarova, ranked 13th in the world, rallied to beat Caroline Garcia 4-6, 7-6 (7-1), 6-1, while World No.4 Petra Kvitova saw off Kristina Mladenovic 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday, reports Xinhua.

This is the seventh straight semi-final appearance for the Czech team.
