Birmingham, Mar 10: Saina Nehwal went down fighting against third seed Chen Wang of Hong Kong in the second round of the women's singles event in Birmingham on Friday to end Indian challenge at the All England Badminton Championships.

Saina, ranked 28, lost to the Asian Games gold medalist 21-17, 13-21, 16-21 after 51 minutes.

The Hyderabadi gave a tough fight to Chen to go up 1-0 after winning the first game. But she squandered the advantage.

Chen set up a quarterfinal clash with P I Hongyan of France, who got the better of Juliane Schenk of Germany 21-12, 21-8.
