Mumbai, Mar 9: On a busy day in Mumbai it is difficult for women to look for a cab, so, a newest taxi service only for women has been launched.

The launch coincided with the International Women's Day.

But the all woman ride comes for a price of course and with a guarantee of 12 hours of pampering.

A play on the name of the luxury German carmaker "Forsche" will be a cab service with a difference.

"I was wondering one day why don't we have any female drivers? I hate how uncomfortable male drivers make you feel It is basically for women's comfort and safety," said Revathi Roy, Founder, 'Forsche'.

Initially, the cabs will operate from 8 am till 8 pm. They will be aimed at corporates and hotel establishments but this exclusive service comes at a price.

Steep price

In India a regular cab charges at least Rs 800 for eight hours, air conditioned cabs cost upto Rs 2,000 for the same period.

Cabs from a five star hotel charge upto Rs 4,000 but Forsche plans on charging Rs 4,000 for 12 hours. A price many feel is too steep for but of luxury and safety.

"I don't think it will do well. It is too expensive. It is a bad idea," said a woman.

"If it becomes a little more cost effective then it will work well. Women taxi drivers is a fabulous idea," said another woman.

Whether Forsche takes off or not really depends on the premium Mumbai's women put on safety and comfort.

But what one cannot deny is that a women's only taxi service is certainly in keeping with the time.
