More dead fish found in Rio Olympic lake

Rio de Janeiro, April 14 (IANS): More dead fish have washed up on the beach of a lake here that will be used for 2016 Olympic rowing races.

Environmental officials said on Monday that the fish die-off was the result of recent rains and high sea levels which caused the lake's water temperature to drop, reports Xinhua.

Water pollution has been a tricky issue for the 2016 Rio Olympics as floating garbage can still be seen in many areas on the city's bay and lakes.
