Guerrilla hideout busted in Jammu and Kashmir


Jammu, April 7 (IANS): Security forces on Tuesday busted a guerrilla hideout in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition, an official said.

Acting on a tip, a police team from Banihal in Ramban, and soldiers of the 12th battalion of Rashtriya Rifles launched a joint search operation in Kharander Nallah area near Chachal village, a police officer told IANS.

The arms and ammunition seized from the hideout include a rocket propelled grenade launcher, one AK-47 rifle with five magazines, three binoculars, two wireless sets, two hand grenades, eight smoke grenades, two under barrel grenade launchers (UBGLs) and some blasting material.
