Mangalore: ‘Patrika Bhavana’ to be Inaugurated on Mar 4

Mangalore, Mar 1: The Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association has now got a building of its own for conducting press conferences and for other media related events. The new building ‘Patrika Bhavana’ situated near Urwa church hall will be inaugurated on March 4.

President of DK District Working Journalists Association, B Ravindra Shetty speaking to in a press conference said that the building will be inaugurated by Narasimha Rao senior journalist.

On the occasion four retired senior journalists Malar Jayaram Rai, Ramachandra Rao, U Narasimha Rao and N R Ubhaya will be felicitated.

MP Janardhana Poojary, former Chief Minister M Veerappa Moily, in-charge minister for DK district B Nagaraj Shetty, MCC Mayor Vijaya Arun, MP DV Sadananda Gowda and several prominent leaders will participate in the inaugural ceremony.

The building was constructed from the fund received from various sources. A sum of Rs 25 lac was received from Janardhana Poojary’s MP fund, Rs 4 lac from DV Sadananda Gowda and Rs 4 lac was received from the MLA fund of N Yogish Bhat and Rs 2 lac from the state government.

The commercial complex consists of offices, library, computer lab and guest rooms.
