Elephant kills man in Bengal


Kolkata, April 4 (IANS): A 25-year-old man was killed after being attacked by an elephant in West Bengal's Bankura district on Saturday, a forest official said.

The incident happened in Kuchkunda village under Barjora range in the district in the early hours of Saturday.

"A herd of four elephants had strayed into the village in search of food and water. The victim, Subodh Bauri was sleeping outside his house when an elephant attacked him. He succumbed to his injuries at a hospital," Divisional Forest Officer, Bankura (North) Division, Sudhir Chandra Das said.
