Albanian weightlifters get 2-8 years suspension for doping


Tirana, April 4 (IANS): Albanian weightlifters Daniel Godelli, Romela Begaj and Hysen Pulaku have received heavy punishment for failing dope tests from the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

Godelli and Begaj were suspended for two years, while Pulaku was punished with eight years of suspension on Friday, reports Xinhua.

Results of doping tests of Godelli, Begaj and Pulaku were positive after an international event held in Kazakhstan.

Stanozonol, a substance that is used for both animals and humans to increase muscle mass, was found in the bodies of all the three weightlifters.
