Mangalore, Feb 28: A little more than a month ago, the city lost one of its bravest heroes. Flight Lt Ronald Kevin Serrao breathed his last when his Jaguar plane went up in flames during a practice session in Rajasthan.

The city administration has now decided to honour the martyr by naming the Kucchikadu road near Kalpane, Kulshekar after him.

On Tuesday, Feb 27, the Mangalore City Corporation approved the renaming of the road. This move brought delight to thousands of the close associates of Ronald and especially his family, relatives and people of his locality and parish.

Daijiworld too shares a major portion of the success as it placed the demand on several occasions. When the State Minister for Defence visited the Serrao family, the request for renaming the lane after Ft Lt Ronald Serrao was made by Daijiworld. In response the minister assured to discuss it with the Mayor.

The proposal to rename the road was placed by corporator Aziz and was passed on Tuesday during the council meeting.
