Bishop Albert D’Souza Of Lucknow Appointed Archbishop Of Agra

NEW DELHI, Feb 22: Bishop Albert D’Souza of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh state has been appointed archbishop of Agra.

This was announced in Rome February 16.

Bishop D’Souza, 61, has been the Bishop of Lucknow for the last fourteen years.

The See of Agra fell vacant after Archbishop Oswald Gracias was transferred to Bombay. He took charge December 14, 2006.

Bishop Alphonse D’Souza of Raiganj in West Bengal is the elder brother of Bishop Albert D’Souza.
