Mumbai, Feb 19: The ghastly accident which took away young Lovina Fernandes to her heavenly abode has shocked several who were acquainted with her.

Twenty three-year-old Lovina Fernandes died in a road mishap on Monday, February 19. Lovina, who was on her morning walk on the Kurla - Andheri road at Safed Pool near her residence was knocked down by a speeding truck at 6.30 am.

According to eye witnesses, the truck pinned her to the wall of a shop. Lovina succumbed to major injuries within minutes.

It is also reported that the truck had met with an accident at Marol which is about 3-4 kilometers from Safed Pool and was speeding with the vehicle towards Kurla.

The truck driver is absconding. The impact damaged four shops and the rubble was cleared by the police.

Eye witnesses told Daijiworld that Lovina’s pet dog which accompanied her on her morning walk refused to leave the place until her body was taken to the hospital for post mortem.

Lovina is the eldest daughter of Edward Fernandes and Nancy Fernandes of Mangalore origin, residing at Safed Pool, Jerimeri, Andheri East, Mumbai.  Her father Edward Fernandes are originally from Bola, Belman, now settled since 1952 in Mumbai.
Lovina was working for a call centre after completing her graduation. She is one among four children (Lovina, Edna, Noel and Nelson)

The funeral cortege leaves residence to St Jude Church, Jerimeri at 4.30 pm on Monday, February 19.
